SMB ~ Sabado Metro Gala ~ November 13, 2010 [Part 1]

Si ShiNshinA ay member ng Makati Feast. Every month meron silang isang Saturday activity na tinatawag nilang SMB and on November 13, 2010, SMB meant Sabado Metro Gala. Gala as in tagalog word meaning tour.

That Saturday morning, we had breakfast at McDo bago pumunta sa rendezvous. Nagcab kami papunta.

Nadaanan namin ang DLSU sa Taft Avenue.

Dito naman ang meeting place.

We met with her fellow Makati Feasters at Harbour Square at the CCP complex in Manila... the meet up time was 8:00AM.

We were assigned the color orange which was ShiNshinaH's fave color.

First stop was the Manila Zoo.

Sa labas ng zoo, may isang hawla ng colored na mga ibon na mukhang mga maya... artificial ung coloring kasi ang maya dark brown ang tunay na kulay.

tambad naman kaagad ang statue ng elephant na long-time resident na ng zoo.

mga tunay na ibon... herons ata mga eto...

nagpose muna sa mga bird cages...

ang peacock na sobrang show off... kaso hindi na buo ung feathers nya kaya mukhang ribs na lang ng fan ang nakita namin...

the dangerous bird na Double-Wattled Cassowary...

dumaan kami sa Reptile House... feeding time pala ng mga snakes kaya eto ang eksena... kawawang mga sisiw... ang kukyut pa naman... i'm sure maiiyak ang pamangkin ko pag nakita eto...

may dalawang monitor lizards or iguana rin sa Reptile House...



ang sunod naming nakita etong mga crocodiles na dilaw...

may area rin para sa mga domesticated animals katulad nitong horsey...

may upper level sa zoo na inakyat namin...

the climb was worth it dahil eto ang mga nakita namin... sleeping tigers...

may area sa kabila ng puesto ng mga tigers na overlooking naman sa area ng mga domesticated animals... ang ganda ng gazebo so piktyuran uli...

meron din boating area kung saan niloloko namin ang engaged couple na kunwari eto na ung pre-nuptial pictorial nila... ay kiligs!

sa aviary, ang gaganda ng mga ibon...

mga goats... ay kambing!

at ang star ng aviary... ang white peacock... parang nasa Malfoy Manor lang ako...

si kuya nagbebenta ng mga stuffed animals na eto... na shy bigla nang makitang kinunan sya ng piktyur...

sobra ang humidity kaya napabili tuloy ng bottled water... Manila Pure...

bicol trip - 2010 august - day 2

pangalawang araw ng bicol trip...
eto ung bahay na tinirhan namin ... bahay ng family ni bunso... tawag ng mga tagarito pink house...

  

balak naming makita ang mayon volcano... nilista na ni sheena ung budget namin...

pero bago pa un, bumili muna kami ng ticket pauwi ng manila at baka maubusan kami... buti puedeng mag same day advance booking...

may nadaanan kaming bicol inasal... which was surprising kasi buong akala ko inasal is an ilonggo word or dish...

destination... cagsawa ruins... hopefully with a good view of the perfect cone of Mayon Volcano... maganda ung belltower... here it is silhouetted against the morning skies...

unfortunately, Mayon Volcano was hidden by a thick veil of clouds... only its long base can be seen from the vantage point of the belltower...

a little historical background tungkol sa church and the belltower now in ruins after a volcanic eruption almost two centuries ago...

more pictures of the belltower and grounds... which is above the site of the ruined church...

we were hoping that the clouds would start to disperse so we can see Mayon Volcano from top to bottom... alas, the clouds became denser and denser and almost obliterated the base of the volcano from our view...

so we decided to just concentrate on taking photos of the ruins and grounds...with camera tricks...

these are the upper walls of the old convent where priests and nuns perished during the eruption...

we call these series of photos as our jump for joy shots...
